Today's message in church really grabbed a hold of me. The topic was "uncertainty in our lives" and for what God has planned for us around the corner. Through these hard times, one thing is certain, and that's God's love for His people, and that He'll never leave us. The Bible verse we focused on was Psalm 121:
"I lift up my eyes to the hills -
Where does my help come from?
My helps comes from the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot slip -
he who watches over you will not slumber;
indeed, He who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
The LORD watches over you -
the LORD is your shade at your right hand;
the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.
The LORD will keep you from all harm -
he will watch over your life;
the LORD will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore."
Wow. This Bible verse brings so much comfort in my life, so much security, that I can literally feel God's presence with me. No matter what life throws at you, no matter what hardships are in your life, frustrating you, worrying you, making you sick with stress, God is there. Just take a moment and listen. It's amazing to me how we have such a selfless God, who not only sent His son to die for us, but to constantly be there for us, even when we see no light, and when there is no end in sight.
I have been stressing so much about finding a job, and although I know I need to continue to look for a job, I have a certain peace knowing that God will not let me faulter. He knows what He is doing in my life, and I need to trust Him, and listen to him. This Bible verse is such a sign of how much God loves me, and everyone in this world. I know so many people who are struggling with things in their life. Jobs, finances, family issues.. The list is honestly endless. We have so many things constantly on our minds, and yet, we need to sit back, and realize that God is there. He is always above us, pushing us onward and making sure we're okay. Even though people lose their jobs, go through foreclosures, have family problems, whatever it may be, we're still okay. As long as we know there's God, we're okay.
I can't sum it up any better than what my pastor said, which really hit home for me. He said, "We don't know what tomorrow will hold, but we know who holds it."
God is good, all the time.

After The Storm
Well, things have finally settled down around here! School is over, and summer has set in. Finals were quick and painless, and now I can enjoy my break!
Wedding plans are still in motion. Chris and I are meeting with the caterer soon, as well as ordering the invitations, setting up a registry (with Target and Bed, Bath and Beyond!), and ordering tuxes for all the gentlemen. Other than those couple of things, I have not much to do for the wedding! I can honestly say I have not been stressed once throughout this entire process, which honestly is amazing, because I am so easily stressed!
Some exciting news! Chris got promoted at work! He's starting July 1st as a Night Assistant Manager! I can honestly say that this is a true and much needed blessing!! I have been going crazy thinking of what we're going to do when we get married, and how we will be able to afford everything, but this situation is heaven sent! He'll be working full time, and with a $4.00 raise, it's going to help so much! Hopefully in a year, we'll be able to afford a house! :) God is good!
Well, not much else going on.. I'll update when something exciting happens!
